I started by sketching a bird cage in pencil -
Then i needed to decide where i would want the bird and the quote
I then thought it would be a good idea to go over the image in pen and make the lines more prominent then using water colour i could add some different shades and background to the image. But i realised that wasn't keeping the image simple.
The water colour wrecked this piece, so by using Photoshop i had to fix it.
Here i changed the levels so that the image was brighter and there was more definition.
So i decided that i didn't want the coloured background or the bird in the image as the bird didn't work well coloured. so by using the paint brush tool i was able to carefully rub out all colour and leave the background looking white clean.
The quote in the first image was hand written then the second image i used a font from Photoshop which i felt worked well.
I decided that it would work better with the bird flying away from the cage and the font to be the one from Photoshop.
